MP9 | Dune Asp Description
Release History
MP9 | Dune Asp was added to CS2 on July 8, 2026, through the Arabesque, Tech, Fruits & Racing update. The finish was created by kioShimyo and became part of The Arabesque Collection, adding a new desert-themed option for the MP9.
Designer
Dune Asp was designed by the community artist kioShimyo. The skin combines restrained colors with a reptile-inspired concept, giving the compact SMG a more grounded and tactical personality than the brighter decorative finishes from the same collection.
Pattern and Skin Features
MP9 | Dune Asp uses the Gunsmith finish style, where patina effects are combined with custom-painted elements. The design is applied to the new CS2 weapon model and uses warm brown tones as its main colors — a light sand base with near-black swirls. Pattern indexes do not alter the appearance, so all copies follow the same visual arrangement. There is no rare pattern seed or unique best pattern; condition is the main factor that changes how clean the finish looks.
Float Range
MP9 | Dune Asp has a float range of 0.00 to 1.00, allowing it to appear in Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn, and Battle-Scarred condition. Every exterior is also available in a Souvenir version. Factory New provides the most intact version of the muted brown-and-gray design, with cleaner surfaces and stronger separation between painted details. More worn examples give the skin a rougher appearance that can work well with its desert-inspired theme.
Drop Rate and Chance
MP9 | Dune Asp is not tied to the traditional case-opening system. Players obtain it through the Armory by using Armory Credits to access rewards from The Arabesque Collection. Because it is an Industrial Grade item, it is expected to appear relatively often compared with the higher-tier rewards in the same collection. This makes Dune Asp one of the more attainable outcomes for players spending credits in the Armory.
Gameplay and Notable Players
MP9 | Dune Asp has only just entered CS2, so it has no established competitive history yet. The MP9 is a popular CT anti-eco SMG, so the finish should get decent visibility in force rounds. Its early audience is mostly loadout-builders and MP9 players.
Rarity
Dune Asp carries Industrial Grade rarity, placing it among the more common skins in the CS2 rarity structure. It is one of 304 SMG finishes currently available and is positioned below Mil-Spec, Restricted, Classified, and Covert items. Its value is therefore more likely to depend on exterior condition, Souvenir status, and visual preference than on rarity alone. For players who like understated weapon designs, it offers an accessible entry into The Arabesque Collection.
Popularity
MP9 | Dune Asp currently holds a 52% popularity rating, placing it in the top 48% of CS2 items. The figure blends how often the skin sells with the price it commands.
