Release History
MP7 | Base-2 was introduced to CS2 on July 8, 2026, as part of the Arabesque, Tech, Fruits & Racing update. Created by SHAFT, it became one of the SMG finishes included in The Spy Tech Collection and added a new utilitarian design to the Armory lineup.
Designer
Base-2 was created by the community designer SHAFT. The skin follows a functional, equipment-inspired direction, giving the MP7 the appearance of a compact field prototype rather than a brightly decorated weapon.
Pattern and Skin Features
MP7 | Base-2 uses a Gunsmith finish that combines custom-painted sections with patina treatment on the new CS2 model. Pattern indexes have no effect on the artwork, so the visual arrangement remains fixed on every copy. Its green-focused color scheme gives the SMG a practical military-tech appearance. Since the layout does not vary, there is no rare pattern seed or special best pattern; exterior condition is the main factor affecting how clean the design appears.
Float Range
Base-2 has a float range from 0.00 to 1.00, allowing the skin to exist in all five exterior conditions. Each wear level is also available as a Souvenir version. Factory New preserves the most even green surface and keeps the smaller painted details clearly visible. Higher-float copies develop a more worn and functional appearance, which can suit the skin’s field-equipment theme.
Drop Rate and Chance
MP7 | Base-2 is not found inside a traditional CS2 case. It is acquired through the Armory, where players spend Armory Credits to receive rewards from The Spy Tech Collection. As an Industrial Grade item, Base-2 is one of the more likely rewards available through this system. Its acquisition rate is higher than that of the Mil-Spec, Restricted, Classified, and Covert skins in the same collection, making it a comparatively easy Armory result.
Gameplay and Notable Players
As a fresh Armory release, MP7 | Base-2 has not built a competitive reputation yet. The MP7 is a solid all-round SMG, so the finish will see fairly regular use. At the moment, Armory players and collectors show the most interest.
Rarity
Base-2 belongs to the Industrial Grade tier and is one of 304 SMG skins in CS2. This places it among the collection’s more widely available finishes rather than its limited premium rewards. Because its rarity is relatively low, demand is more likely to be influenced by the MP7 model, the green tactical design, exterior quality, and Souvenir status than by scarcity itself.
